Wilderness Skills

Wilderness Skills In-Person

Is your child prepared to adventure outdoors? Join us to learn a few basic wilderness skills. Engage your child’s observation, critical thinking, confidence, and ability to work in a team with this new program!

This guided program will give children the opportunity to interact with nature and practice valuable wilderness skills in hands-on activities. Some of the topics to be covered are: identifying a water source and obtaining clean water, pinpointing direction with a compass, and choosing a site for and constructing a makeshift shelter.

The program will take place at several locations along our trail system. Activities and content are geared towards children ages 6-12.
